The project that nearly finished me off...

I thought it would be a brilliant idea to make old style clasp coin purses, so since I don't do things by half I ordered 10 purse frames from a lovely eBay shop and was really excited when they arrived, but now they're the bane of my crafting life!

There were no instructions with the frames, which I knew there wouldn't be but thought 'it's ok, there's a detailed how-to on the Purl Bee site'.  Oh my.  They are wonderfully detailed instructions, however, they most definitely didn't have the same clasps as me, or my penchant for large pleats in fabric lately or my complete inability to hold the fabric still whilst clamping the frame around it!  I screamed, swore, gesticulated and pleaded and nearly cried in frustration.  One I had to abandon and I'm not sure if it's salvageable, but I'm not going to find out any time soon as it's banished until I'm calmer.  Another I made a last ditch attempt at making before relegating all the rest of the frames to the bottom of the make pile, and although it's not perfect at least it's finished and my goodness I'm glad it's over and done with!

This is the evil evil purse (I must make clear that I hold nothing against the supplier or the tutorial, it's my incompetence that makes it evil!)

The flowers were added to hide where I had to stitch the outer to the lining as it came out of the clasp!  But think it looks pretty.  If anyone knows of a video tutorial for making purses please send me the link!!!
