Look what I've made!

So for those of you who remember, I started making leather birds and hinted at making something pretty with them, well I hope you agree that this is something pretty!

I really loved making this, getting the colour combinations right and to choose the right shapes and styles to make it look just 'right' to me.  It's in the shop now if you fancy it and there should be some more by the end of the week, I'm really having a good run of ideas and just need the time to get them all done!  Longer weekends anyone?

My apologies to those of you who prefer to read about sewing exploits and I am aware that lately I've only posted about putting things in the shop but this was a resolution of mine from last year to get a shop up and running.  I feel that I didn't get off to a good start with it and feel I really want to give it my all so that I can make a proper go of it.  It's also because it's lighter work than sewing so is easier for my arms as don't want to push myself too hard too fast, although my treatment went well yesterday and find my arm is so so so much better but don't want to jinx it!

Yeah, I know, another one!  At least it's not gin related.  I seem to have coupled my love for flowers, jewellery and making things into one mash up and come up with these; they're in the shop if you fancy any of them.  Go take a look!

The only clothes sewing achieved this week has been at my sewing class, the dress is coming along nicely and at a faster pace than I thought.  Could do with working on it at home though.  It can get a little competitive to use the three brand new machines I got by asking nicely at the student committee meeting.  My powers of persuasion are endless seemingly but not when it comes to letting me use a machine for more than 5 minutes that I wrangled for the class...hmmm.... I have stories, lots of stories but I don't like speaking ill of people behind their backs when I wouldn't say anything to their faces.  If they were more a part of my life I'd probably have it out with them but it's just two hours and I can ignore people for years so it's not a problem.

I have managed to stitch up a few more bunnies that need stuffing and putting in the shop.  I do love bunnies.  There will be some other animal friends to join them soon but tea and cake are needed first.  Sustenance is always vital and vitamin c(ake) is very important indeed! ;)

Pretty things in the shop!

Just a little note to say there are pretty shiny things in the shop!  OoooOOooh! hehe! ;)  I've had the day off so have been busy making and listing things for the shop and am impressed that I'm getting better with the camera.  I've learned that I'm my own worst enemy by getting in my own light and by trying to be too quick and then taking the same shot twice rather than adjusting the angle or look or just ending up with a bit of a blur!  I need to take more time and care, but I was on a timescale as the camera was eating up the battery, I'd even turned off the back screen and was using the good old fashioned view finder like ye olden days to save battery power but still ended up with a couple of duff photos that will have to be redone when I finally find some more batteries or go out and buy some more rechargeable ones.

Anyhoo...onto the pretties!  *rubs hands with delight*  I just love bright solid colour jewellery!

Hoppity Hop Hop!

They're breeding in the night...just like rabbits!

Felt rings

New in the shop!  Felt rings that I've designed and made myself.  I've got to get super busy making as I've been given the opportunity to share a stall with a local craft supply shop called Nimble Fingers during February half term.  I'm so happy and bewildered and chuffed to beans that the shop owner asked me to exhibit and sell my wares on her stall!  I'm guessing it's because I spend so much time in there...I may need to get my own chair there soon!

My head has been abuzz ever since I got the news so this is the first of hopefully many new things I can show off on the shop and stall and sell with any luck!  I'm trying to do small runs of things so that I don't get bored making the same thing and so that I don't get stuck with a large stock that won't sell.

These are the rings I've made, I'm going to keep one for myself as I love it so much and well, it'll help me show off what I make by wearing it!  That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

I've made some more but not sure if they're going to stay the way they look now.  Think it's time to move onto something else and come back later with fresh eyes and ideas.

Only a few listings at the moment but lots more in the pipeline!  I'm keeping it small but manageable at the moment as don't want to over stretch myself, but by golly it's been a steep learning curve with all the technology and terminology involved in this.
