My new 'do!

I took today off work and got my hair cut, it was long over due and needed a restyle and hey presto!

My new hairdo!

It's a graduated cut so it's shorter at the back and have a new sweeping fringe

Um, yeah, so those aren't highlights in my hair, they're streaks of grey.  BIG streaks of grey.  Now, I had been thinking of just going grey gracefully (!) ok, so maybe ungracefully, but when the hairdresser was parting my hair and cutting it and I saw just how much grey there was, well, it was a good job I was sitting down!  So the questions is to dye or not to dye?  I'm thinking auburn and I already have a box of dye that I bought months ago when I first saw how grey I was and then promptly ignored it.  Any body want to give their opinion?  I may not take your advice but it's nice to know what others think sometimes!

Oh and because I can't do a photo shoot without at least one weird photo, here's my mickey take of a model photo:
I feel like chicken tonight, like chicken tonight!

Hehehe!  Tickled me pink, or in this case yellow anyway! ;)

  2. What a difference! Your new do really suits you, you look gorgeous! I colour all the time, but only cos I'm bored. I always wait for it to come out before I go again tho, just to make sure I dont ever get a "been dying for years, is that really my natural hair colour?!" shock....

  4. You look gorgeous!! The cut really suits you (as does the gold of your blouse). My vote is take the greys as highlights and run with 'em! : There's nothing so renewing as a new haircut anyway, so I say sail forth wearing your *decorative, naturally lighter embellishments* proudly! For now anyway. See how you like them for a while, do they make you feel mature, powerful, RAWR, or do they just make you feel tired and old? I like gutsy women with bold white streaks, but some days I just want mine to go the heck away. I just figure, now that you know they're there, play with them, you can always get chemical on them later! :)

  5. I didn't think there was anything wrong with your hair before but it definitely looks more lovely and pretty now. You are in tune with my thinking as I keep wanting to go and get mine cut! I even found myself checking cut-your-own hair videos on you tube but maybe that would be madness?? xx

  6. It's lovely mimi!! Really suits you. Abd very good chicken tonight pose!! As for dye or not to dye- its up to you! I personally chose not to follow the dye route, far more scared of the white stripe ( opp of black roots) and that for me it would signify me not being truly me. But i also reckon that you can have some real fun with different hair colours, so a semi permanent might tempt me these days!!

  7. It's very flirty, I love it! Playing with hair color can be so much fun. I may have to do the same. I found TWO gray hairs the other day. I am in denial about them coming back. I plucked them :)

  8. your hair is great! I love the fringe and all those lovely curls. Personally I'm a fan of grey, or a strong mad colour? like bright bright red!

  10. Thank you all so so much! I think I'll probably live with the grey for a little while longer but maybe dye it some time nearer the summer I expect just for a change!

    Thank you ladies!

  13. I loved hearing your description of your new do, so much so I had you repeat it 3 times and still enjoyed hearing about it in this post! Like all the positive feedback you're getting on it too!

I like my grey hairs, but there's nothing wrong with colouring either! The one thing I would strongly recommend though is to have it coloured at the salon rather than getting a packet to do it at home! Trust me, I've listened to my old hairdresser Gene expound on this many times back in Atlanta ... I take his advice as gospel!

You are definitely the most stylish magpie in the flock!

  16. The new 'do' is great! I dye my hair and really don't know what I'm naturally like anymore - probably 'Dot Cotton'! Tho' I only dye the whole lot about 4 times a year and use those 'repair' kits for the rest of the time - I reckon it's kinder to my hair that way.

  17. Thanks! I'm so torn now but might leave it for a bit before dyeing it. Thanks for the tips!

  18. Love the new do! It looks fab!

Re the gray, I think you're right in living with it for a while. A few of my friends proudly carry their gray hairs and they suit them.

The thing is, if you do decide to dye your hair, and this is speaking as someone who has dyed their hair since they were 19, you will have to keep dying it.

So, a lot to think about!

Must meet up again soon too!
