In summary, clothes wise this month has been a lot easier than other me made months but sadly due to outside issues I've missed a couple of photos and dropped my daily blogging routine which made me irritated but I couldn't help it so I'm not dwelling on it. I'm surprised at how many pieces I have in yellow! I wouldn't have said that I wore yellow very much but I have two yellow tops and a dress and am finding myself increasingly drawn to wearing them. I got a little bored with the variety of me made items that I have to wear by the end of this month, but I'd known from the beginning that I really need to fix some of the me made items I have to make them wearable (which didn't happen) and that I have a work in progress pile that needs attentions (which also didn't happen). So it wasn't at all surprising that when I realised on Friday that I didn't need to wear anything me made I breathed a sigh of relief and wore RTW instead. I think I've learned not to beat myself up so hard for not having a massively expansive me made wardrobe and that what I do have fits nicely into my existing wardrobe. Even the dresses that are more sort of icing rather than staple wear got an outing because the weather was nice enough. I still have a long way to go but I'm not going to rush as it takes all the fun out of it. I am slightly disappointed with not having the time to make anything new this month apart from the super speedy jersey top, but that's how it goes sometimes.
I would like to say THANK YOU to Zoe for hosting this Me Made May and to all the lovely people who took the time to comment. I'm sad I didn't get to stalk the flickr group more often towards the end of this month but will now have a backlog of looking and reading to do so don't mind too much as it's raining outside.
Well, onwards and upwards! I have an evening fair to get ready for next Friday and want to make some needle felted ball necklaces like the one I've worn all month so better get stabbing...felt that is!
Congratulations- We made it through MMM! Your bright clothes made me happy every time I saw them! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! That's really sweet of you to say so!
ReplyDeleteyou look lovely in yellow, so I am glad to see how many pieces you have in that color!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Meg!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you wearing yellow - it really is a good colour on you (esp the lotus top - swoon) I think you've summarised the whole point of MMM - it's about wearing what you have creatively & not necessarily rushing off to make lots of new things. I haven't been able to keep up with daily posts (reading others even) but it's been great to catch up with what yo've been up to - well done :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I feel much more laid back about it. I think thinking about the 'go slow clothes' that Charlotte started is really taking effect!
