Me Made March Day 6

I've had rather an unproductive day sewing wise, but thinking of taking in the orange tree pattern skirt as it's too big so I can wear it next week.  I did go to the cinema though and we watched Rango, it's good!  I laughed a lot, only thing is; be warned you need to take a bottle of water with you...I'm saying no more.

Here's my outfit today

Me wearing me made top, snuggly Monsoon cardi and an M&S skirt I wish I could make more of.
The top is the me made top I blogged about here from a remnant of Amy Butler fabric that's the top half of the dress I made yesterday blogged here.  I really like this top as I'd eyed up the fabric before but always try and buy this designer's fabric on sale as it's rather pricey so it was amazing to find it on sale and in the remnant bin which meant it was cheaper again!  Bargain!  Here's a picture without the fluffy cardi.

Me without the cardi, I was brave only for the length of this picture and then it was straight in to the warm!

The fluffy cardi is a must as it's still rather nippy, it's a favourite from a Monsoon sale a year or two ago, I'd really like to have a go at making a bolero like this but the fabric shops I've frequented lately mainly only stock cotton and my knitting isn't up to much so I'll have to wait a bit longer.  Speaking of wanting to make things, I'd really like to learn how to make the pleated panels on this skirt as I get a lot of compliments on it and would like it in another colour.  I've seen a tutorial on how to pleat fabric for a bag so may just cobble something together from that to make one myself.

So seen any good films lately?

  1. I've said before I know, but I do love that top! Its a gorgeous fabric and its so different for me to see clothing with it when I always think quilt / bag. I'd even say this fabric looks best as a top! Not seen any particularly good films lately, but Sky did treat me to the most AWFUL bit of crap I've seen in years - Textuality - really, truly, utterly, painfully, pants. I'd say its 90 minutes of my life completely wasted but i was too knackered to move so at least I can claim the time would've been wasted anyway!

  2. Wow, that's some strong feelings about a film! ;) I think I'll give it a miss then!

You really should try parting with some of your lovely quilting fabric to make a top for yourself sometime. That AMH cotton voile is especially nice in a top as it's sooo soft and comfy. I love this top too as there's lots of colours without it being too overpowering.
