So, what have I learnt this month? That I still need more tops, that there is no point in me making trousers and I love to wear dresses and skirts. I'm also thinking that if I do Self Stitched September that I will need to get some knits to sew up, my knitting abilities are none existent and it's probably not the best idea in the world for the RSI.
And so onto today's outfit and picture, I thought it would be a fitting end to wear the dress that finished me off last me made month as I've grown to love it so.
I came over all flamenco dancer-ish with my me made bags |
looks a bit better now the wind isn't trying to blow the back of the skirt over my head! |
And because I was told to have a 'proper' picture too |
I'm glad this dress turned out ok in the end, it's such pretty fabric and was a bargain. The bags are what I've been working on this afternoon from the scraps I got from the makery emporium in Bath the other day. I'm really pleased with them.

These are going towards my stash to sell, what do you think of them? If anyone wants one I'm going to be selling them for £5. They measure approximately 18cm by 11cm. The chrysanthemum one was the first one I did before I remembered how to sew the outer and liner to the zip in one go and needs a bit of work so might be the one I keep. Any thoughts?
boy you've been busy! Great selection of bags :-) I really need to learn how to do zips...
ReplyDeleteAnd I must say, you look fabulous dahling! What a way to end MMJune :-)
Why thank you!
ReplyDeleteZips aren't as hard as they make themselves out to be for things like bags but with dresses or tops they can be a bugger.
Oooh these are cool, I just love whipping up things like this, so satisfying! You look fabulous too and congrats on finishing MMJ!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute bags, super cute you!! Wow. Impressive once again. I love the little bag with the nesting dolls. Darling. You and I must be on the same page because I bought a zipper today and am going to attempt ablittle bag. Where did you get your labels?? Excellent job!!
ReplyDeleteThank you both! Trish, the labels were from an online shop over here that embroiders labels for school uniforms but has caught on that crafters want labels for their work and do customer jobs. MADE did a feature on label makers in America but I'd just check out the places that do labels for schools as they're cheaper!
ReplyDeleteMimi you are always so productive! You have done an amazing job with the MMJ! I am also loving the buttons on your blog, along with all those lovely bags. Well done.x x x
ReplyDeleteThanks Charlotte! I do like to keep busy! Glad you like the buttons and bags. Thanks for your support during me made June!
ReplyDeleteYou made it! Well done! Sorry I haven't been around much, but the shit keeps on hitting the fan around here, so not much progress on anything. I love your dress, and all your little bags. Isn't it satisfying to sit at the machine for a little while and end up with a bunch of things, instead of half of one? Way to go!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I have been thinking about you and hoping that you've been ok. Sorry it's still been crappy.
ReplyDeleteIt was so good to make the bags, like you said it's so nice to get something completely finished. The dress is now a firm favourite and can see me wearing it lots.
