MMJ Day 30 and bags bags bags!

Ok so there's been a love-hate relationship with this me made month like the last one but at least I knew not to get stressed out by it.  I'm really glad I did ti as like I said before it gives me a boost with my clothes sewing for me but it does get in the way of everything else I want to sew so it's difficult.  I've been counting down the days to the end of this month a bit as have a few projects that I want to get done for other people and didn't want to start them before this month was over as wanted to give my full attention to them.

So, what have I learnt this month?  That I still need more tops, that there is no point in me making trousers and I love to wear dresses and skirts.  I'm also thinking that if I do Self Stitched September that I will need to get some knits to sew up, my knitting abilities are none existent and it's probably not the best idea in the world for the RSI.

And so onto today's outfit and picture, I thought it would be a fitting end to wear the dress that finished me off last me made month as I've grown to love it so.

I came over all flamenco dancer-ish with my me made bags

looks a bit better now the wind isn't trying to blow the back of the skirt over my head!

And because I was told to have a 'proper' picture too

I'm glad this dress turned out ok in the end, it's such pretty fabric and was a bargain.  The bags are what I've been working on this afternoon from the scraps I got from the makery emporium in Bath the other day.  I'm really pleased with them.

six lovely little purses

These are going towards my stash to sell, what do you think of them?  If anyone wants one I'm going to be selling them for £5.  They measure approximately 18cm by 11cm.  The chrysanthemum one was the first one I did before I remembered how to sew the outer and liner to the zip in one go and needs a bit of work so might be the one I keep.  Any thoughts?

  2. Why thank you!

Zips aren't as hard as they make themselves out to be for things like bags but with dresses or tops they can be a bugger.

  5. Thank you both! Trish, the labels were from an online shop over here that embroiders labels for school uniforms but has caught on that crafters want labels for their work and do customer jobs. MADE did a feature on label makers in America but I'd just check out the places that do labels for schools as they're cheaper!

  8. You made it! Well done! Sorry I haven't been around much, but the shit keeps on hitting the fan around here, so not much progress on anything. I love your dress, and all your little bags. Isn't it satisfying to sit at the machine for a little while and end up with a bunch of things, instead of half of one? Way to go!

  9. Thank you so much! I have been thinking about you and hoping that you've been ok. Sorry it's still been crappy.

It was so good to make the bags, like you said it's so nice to get something completely finished. The dress is now a firm favourite and can see me wearing it lots.
